Language Arts
First we did our "The Storm on the Mediterranean Coast" ship art.It was lots of fun.We used oil pastels.Next Ms.Booth read us a first person reflection. The homework is Grammar workshop lesson 6-C page 30 and Dred Scott rough draft.

Math
Today  math was the best!!! I was picked to be the scribe. A scribe  is a person who writes about their day in their subject. My subject is math. It began with the Problem of the Day, the Problem of the Day is a problem that the teacher projects on the board and we, the students, have to figure it out. Today the problem was easy. It was about if $5 a ticket for an adult to go to the zoo and $3 a ticket for a child to go to the zoo and a group spends $19 for a ticket how many of each kind of ticket does the group buy? Most of the class got it right. Ms. Booth, the teacher, gave us a 10 question quiz. The quiz was to check our progress and get us ready for the chapter 1 test. After every one finished with the test Ms. Booth taught us a lesson. It was about area model. Area Model is a way to multiply. For example, if you don’t know what is 5 x 17 you split 17 into 10 and 7. Then you multiply 10 x 5= 50, then 7 x 5 = 35. 35 +70 = 85. So 5 x 17 = 85. The day had to finish and we had to switch. I CAN’T WAIT FOR Tomorrow!!!!!!!!

First, we were finishing are Mediterranean writing. Then we are doing finger print patterns .We had to scribble lead on paper and put are fingers on the lead on the paper. We were putting are fingers with lead on them on tape so are finger print will show. We got to work as detectives and try to infer who did the crime! Then we were reading a newspaper article about a fire starting that the writer jumped to conclusion. We had to change the article so that there were no inferences and only facts and evidence.

Math

Today we started math with the Problem of the Day and Common Core Quick Check. After that, we checked the Problem of the Day, Common Core Quick Check, and our homework from Thursday. Then we did all of Lesson 4. Finally, we talked about Class Dojo.

Language Arts

When kids started coming in, we could have read books or we could do our class project of "The Storm on the Mediterranean Coast".

Then we went into our Then and Now booklet and circled important words and read a little about Dred Scott, his family, and about his past. He fought for his rights for slavery, and he won it after 10 years. He died a year later. Then we had to find 55 words to find, in  an article and write into a long vowel worksheet and put the pattern it is. It took a long time. It was really  fun. We corrected it altogether and it was fun. Then we went to math.

Math

When kids came into class, we  took out our homework and corrected it. People made some silly mistakes, but then we got it. After we learned how to add exponents. It was easy but there's a lot of adding.

It took us the whole math class to finish the entire lesson! Then we went over it, and corrected it. then at the end we logged in into a website called scoot pad. We checked the leaderboard. I was part of the top ten. It was exciting. Then we went to homeroom.

Homeroom

We did a little of social studies and we learned about Cristopher Columbus. Our table is using him for our class project. Then we had to vote on student council.I wanted to be a part of it and I do not know who voted for me. I hope I win! Then we packed up and went home.

Language Arts

Today we went to language arts. At the beginning of class, the teacher checked everyone’s homework. Then we read about the constitution book. We had to summarize the whole article, and read page 13, and then we read some of pages 16 and 17. Next we wrote about Dred Scott’s Personal Reflection, and we had to write four things about Dred Scott’s quotes. Next I wrote my Mediterranean Coast final draft paper and checked another student’s paper. Then we learned about long vowels for our homework.

Math

We learned about prime factorization.First we put 36 then we thought what x2=36we got 9 then we split 9 into 3 and 2 so the answer was 2x2x3.Then Ms.Booth showed us 24 split into 3 and 8 then split the 8 into 2 and 4 then we split the 4 into 2 and 2 so we got 3x2x2x2.and last she showed us 16 into 8 and 2 then we split the 8 into 2 and 4 then we split the 4 into2 and 2 so the answer is 2x2x2x2.Then at lunch we had a Cool To Be Kind event with hula hoops and jump rope and great prizes.I can't wait for the next event.

Math

When we got into math class Ms. Booth passed out a math test on Chapter 1 Place Value. When I took the test I was stuck on the second to last problem but when I got the multiplication and division down it was actually sort of easy. I checked my work with addition and I ended up with the number in the word problem. Then we wrote down the homework for the week. Today (Tuesday) we have Scootpad only, and tomorrow and Thursday we will have My Math pages and Scootpad. Before math ended Ms. Booth showed us the Scootpad leader board. Parik was in first place followed by David.
