Language Arts

When the kids started walking in we took out homework, we all started reading. I am reading a real interesting book. Want to know the title? The title is called,"Sit, Stay, Love", by J.J Howard. It is really interesting. I started reading it on February the 6, in the night.

At least after 20 minutes, we got out our How To... Project to edit and revise them. I made about no mistakes. I made very silly and simple mistakes that could be fixed in a second. I made some spelling errors, so I went on a chrome book to check my spelling errors.I missed only 2 words! That is very good! After, I asked Ms. Booth about homework, then we had to switch to Math. Today was A great day in Language
Arts.

Math

When kids started to walk in, we all sat down in our blue, hard, cold, and shiny  chairs. We got out our warm up to start our day. It was superb. It was so easy. It was about simplifying fractions. I of course, got all of them right! Woo hoo!

Then we got out our homework to correct. For the My Homework page, we did simplifying fractions as well. For the worksheet, we did multiplying decimals. All the homework was so easy. The we got to our lesson. It was about guess and check. Personally, it was really confusing. I asked Ms. Booth, and then I understood. Then after the lesson, we did...... Stock Market!!!

Then we had to switch to Homeroom. Today was a really fun and great day in Math!

Math
Today, in math class, we didn't do a problem of the day but did our Stock Market, a worksheet with real-life company stocks. Then, everyone else I took the Chapter Test, while I was getting into the swing of things, since I was on vacation, and missed the important things. So I was catching up on everything. Then, I was doing my math book, while everyone was doing ScootPad and Sumdog. Then it was lunch. After lunch, I was finishing the work I needed to do, while everyone was doing Sumdog or ScootPad. I needed to do lessons 11, 13, and 14. This is what I did in math today.

Math

Today in math class, we skipped our daily warm-up. We  got right into our stock marketing packet. Tesla (out of all six choses) was the only one that went down today! Then we did our Chapter 6 Test for the rest of the time. It contained of 29 questions! That was our longest chapter test in fifth grade! Not many people finished, so we will continue on Tuesday. Since today was 80s day, many people dressed up (as shown below).

Language Arts
Today was a great day in language, it was a  normal day and we put out our homework for checking and we read. Time was up for reading and we were about to check homework. As we wrapped that up and got our homework for tonight we took out our point of view book and turned to page 6-7 and read Gold Country and got an observation and prediction paper. We had 10 minutes and she gave us two more minutes to finish and then we shared our responses. We read as a class after that it is about a teen immigrant from china named Runt he wrote a journal but the book is historical fiction. As we read it was a good story, after that we worked on the other side of the page, a key events and summary. It seemed that we would not finish before lunch but we did with time to spare. We started talking about how to do the page we underlined and numbered the line . Everyone finished before snack and left the class. We all got back from snack and we were going to work on how to every one got to put their skill to use on a project. We got to pick our project and we switched to math.

Math
Today, on January 10, we started the class with Common Core Quick Check (which is now our full Warm Up). Once we all finished and corrected our work, we did our stock market check. Netflix and Starbucks were the only 2 that went up today! Once we wrapped that up, we started Lesson 14, which was dividing decimal by powers of ten, SUPER EASY! Today we were assigned My Homework Lesson 14 and Simplifying Fractions. When we got back from lunch and if we were finished, we could do our Stock Market Business Overview and Reason for Choosing this Stock. So overall, I loved our lesson today and the whole class.

Language Arts
First, we checked homework. It was reading, grammar, vocabulary story, and story of the week which was "Your Favorite Present". Then we read the poems and the substitute teacher came in.  Then we went to recess. When we got back, Mrs.Booth gave us our worksheets for the poems. Finally, we switched to math.

Math
This is what we did on January ninth. When we walked into the class, Ms. Booth told us to work on the warm-up. There were 2 questions, that were really easy. She corrected the warm-up, and told us to take out our homework. I wasn't there because I went to the restroom, so no one corrected mine. We worked on our stock market project. When we were done, she told us to take out our math books. We flipped to lesson 13. It was about dividing with decimals. The concept was really easy. We worked on Guided Practice for 5 minutes up to number 3. We went to lunch, and came back. We kept on working on it until one o'clock. That was what we did on January ninth of 2018.
